Hi Stephanie,

We actually state in the article, "Despite its name, the American Heart Association has no direct affiliation with this diet plan...". This was something floating around the internet that we wanted to make sure our readers understood that we didn't endorse it, and that the AHA had no direct affiliation. To make it more clear on the AHA's position, I have went back and made that statement BOLD. Thanks for reading and your concerns on the issue, for which we both agree.

The American Heart Association does not endorse this 3-day diet, nor do we advocate for ANY fad diet. In fact we have a book called the No Fad Diet, which is available through Amaon.com. Please see our statement regarding these phony diets at: http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3022109

The AHA encourages you to take control of your heart health by eating a balanced diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables and lean protein and to engage in regular physical activity. You can learn my by visiting our robust Nutrition Center at: http://bit.ly/btGT3K
