The first month of this is good…it didn’t give me any big results (maybe because there are no weights involved I wasn’t burning as many calories after my workout??I’m not a big weight lifter, but usually do aerobics with 5-8 lb weights.), It was challenging and will make you sweat profusely and make your heart race. However, the second month workouts are looooong and not fun. I actually dreaded them. And since I didn’t get any results from the first month, I decided it wasn’t worth it.
The first month is a lot easier, and the second month is a BIG challenge. Patience will often bring results, even if you don’t do the second month, continue with the first month again. If you are eating at a calorie deficit to lose weight, weight loss will continue on into the second month and beyond.
Hi Robert,
I come on your site at least once or twice a day. I thought I’d add my review of Insanity so far. I started Insanity to burn some fat and tone up, even though I was pretty active before, but not enough for this program. I have 1.5 week remaining and I have never missed a warm up, workout or cool down.
I noticed some fit test I did better than others and I am sure that has a lot to do with external circumstances as well. I eat clean, mostly ER4YBT, but I started Shakeology for 30 days, after using Garden of Life Raw Meal shake for about 2 months. I was always hungry with shakeology though, but not with GOL shake and shakeology has whey, which is a milk product that messes with my lactose intolerance levels.
Anyway, I said I didn’t see major changes in my body, but everyone else is telling me that I look skinny. I started at 172 lbs and I am maybe 169 lbs. I lost 11 lbs doing Rocking Body, but not much with the Insanity and I feel looser……my body parts. Others see differently.
My waist was 32 when I started and it is 32 now. I plan on doing Asylum, then P90X and then Insanity again. It may be better results than what I see, but I layed off from the gym (weights and spinning) while doing Insanity, because I wanted to see how this program would work on its own. Of course, main goal is to tighten the middle section and I see some difference, but not a drastic 60 day confirmation. Again, others say so, but I don’t see it. I am stronger though.
Do you ever hear of women that the waisteline is a number that stays the same, but tones it up? It seems like my stuff jiggle a little bit more since I am not doing weights and spinning. I promise you, that I bust my butt doing Insanity and I drenched with sweat at the end. I am 5’9″.
