P90X Reviews: I Feel & Look Younger Than Before

posted by Robert Harden

I was following up with some customers, and was especially curious about Terry as I knew from previous correspondence that he was getting closer and closer to completing the P90X workout. I was completely surprised when he emailed me back with some before and after pictures, and I could be crazy, but I thought he looked YOUNGER. Read his testimonial, and tell me if you don’t agree. Great job Terry!!

P90X Reviews: I Feel & Look Younger Than Before

From Terry: I had just turned 51 and I had stopped recognizing myself in pictures. I was active, playing tennis twice a week and working out at the gym twice a week but my body was in a rut. I did the same work out every time I went to the gym but I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t losing any weight. When I noticed my chiropractor had lost a significant amount of weight I asked him how he did it. P90X was his answer. I had never heard of P90X or seen any of the infomercials but I googled it and read about muscle confusion, it made sense as to why I wasn’t seeing any improvement. So I made the leap and sent away for the program, bought a pull-up bar, adjustable dumbbells, yoga mat & block and bands. The first few weeks were tough. It took me at least an hour and a half to finish the 54 minute work outs because I had to hit the pause button after almost every exercise. I had bought into the concept of “bringing it” but found myself bringing it to the porcelain deity more often than not. But each week I got stronger and after taking my 30 day pictures and seeing the tremendous improvement I was hooked. I feel like P90X has brought me back to looking like the person I remember. I’ve been told I look years younger and I feel years younger. We now have a saying in our house that we use whenever someone is not putting their all into something…. “Get down there Mr. Haus, this is P90X my brother”.

P90X Reviews: Being in Shape & P90X Shape

posted by Robert Harden

I had the opportunity to visit with one of my customers recently, and am always pleasantly pleased to hear how great they are doing with their program.  This customer has been doing P90X, and I wanted to share his quick P90X review:.

P90X Reviews: Being in Shape & being in P90X Shape.

From Paul: P90X has been both challenging and rewarding. It has introduced me to things I haven’t done before such as plyometrics, kick boxing and yoga. I will conclude week 10 tomorrow (Sunday, Sept 6th) after doing Kenpo X. The program has been a nice change of pace from what I normally do namely lifting weights and doing cardio (stationary bike and ski machine). It’s a totally legit program that I will recommend to anyone who is interested in getting in great shape. But I knew it would be from watching the infomercials. I have been interested and active in fitness and wellness for many, many years and was impressed with what the program offered. I just waited too long to take the plunge. I’m reminded of what former football coach/commentator John Madden liked to say about being in shape for football. His quote was something along the lines of “there is being in shape and then there is being in football shape”. Well, I have found the same holds true for P90X. There is being in shape and then there is being in P90X shape. I feel like I’m in better shape now than I probably ever have been and I am very glad to have experienced the program and its subsequent results.

Great job Paul!

P90X Reviews: Mother of 2 Brings Results!

posted by Robert Harden

Heather contacted me yesterday with this P90X Review, and as always, what an INSPIRATION! P90X works! Heather is a 39 year old mother of 2. I can’t help but think of how many ladies are out there, looking for a program that would help them get their body back after having children. Well, here ya go! Thank you for sharing Heather, and thank you for leading the way in fitness to your friends and co workers. Keep up the great work!

heather-p90x-resultsFrom Heather: “I ordered P90X last February and just completed the program and I am THRILLED with the results and have started 3 other people at my office on the program. I have been exercising at what I thought was an advanced level for the past 15+ years. I started doing the Firm workouts in my early 20’s, the Cathe Fredrich workouts in my 30’s and now at 39 I have completed P90X and am in the best shape ever; and this is after having 2 children. I have always exercised because I enjoy the escape, and the effects on my body were icing on the cake. Now, I am truly amazed at how different my body is after P90X. This is the first time I have gotten my body back after having my last son 4 years ago. I always thought if I wasn’t doing Cardio and squats and lunges with a weighted barbell that I wasn’t getting a good workout. I was very hesitant when I saw the program and there was only one dedicated leg workout. HOWEVER, the other workouts were so well rounded that they did work the legs functionally and the upper body workouts gave my legs some much needed rest.

With the same time constraints as everyone else these days, I never thought I would be able to stick with a program. However, I began to get up at 4 a.m. to fit it in because I was so thrilled with the results that I was seeing.

I am 5’4’’ and weighed 124 pounds at the start of the program. This morning I weighed 117 pounds and am finally at my goal weight.

I ordered ChaLEAN Extreme this weekend and can not wait to start it!”

P90X Reviews: A Customer Gets Great Results!

posted by Robert Harden

san-black-shorts4-smI always enjoy talking with customers about there fitness goals and their eventual success with a fitness program. When Sandra (left) contacted me and asked a question about P90X, I knew right away she would be an inspiration to others, and would make a great P90X Review. I could tell in her email correspondence that she was dedicated to fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. So after answering her question about P90X, I asked her for permission to add her testimonial to the website. As you will read below, she’s 38, and a certified fitness instructor. After a lifetime of fitness, and wanting to take her fitness to the next level, she tried P90X. Great job Sandra, keep up the great work!

From Sandra: “I am 38 and having been working out since my early twenties. I recently did a photo shoot and got some fitness shots published at this crazy age….kinda cool! I purchased P90X because I wanted to take my fitness to the next level. I am on week 8 and will soon begin Phase 3 of the program. I love the program; I’ve found an increase in my strength as well as flexibility, which were weak areas for me. I still add 5 days of cardio to my P90X program…..they are very early morning workouts.

I was wondering If you could repeat the program once again once the 90 days are completed. Can you just change it up and work a different routine? What are your thoughts once a person finishes a program?”

Thanks again for the testimonial, and since this is such a popular question with P90X grads, I’ll provide a quick answer. The quickest answer is “yes”. You can simply repeat the program, or do one of the other rotations provided with the program. The program has a “classic, lean, and doubles” rotation. Doubles will certainly continue to propel you forward in your fitness, but takes a little longer as you often have two workouts per day. Not all of us have time for this. An alternative is to keep the P90X resistance workouts as the “core” of your rotation, but then add in or try new cardio routines. Several options for this are available. You could even try P90X+, which is made specifically for P90X graduates. In time, you will find yourself combining the two workout programs. What about Tony Horton’s One on One. I love these workouts and my personal rotation involves the combination of all 3! Don’t be afraid to mix it up, as Tony Horton says, “Variety is the spice of life”. Just like P90X has 3 phases, for Muscle Confusion, so should your new rotations.

Anyone is free to contact me at any time with questions or with your own P90X Review! Good luck Sandra in your fitness, stay in touch. I may even have some customers wanting to ask you some questions!

P90X Reviews: A Complete Program Overview

posted by Robert Harden

P90X Reviews
P90X Retails for $119.95.

In the coming weeks, I will be completing a complete and comprehensive overview and review of the P90X program. Each DVD will be reviewed separately, and labeled accordingly. Please be sure to check back often, or alternatively, subscribe to my fitness blog to catch these P90X Reviews in your email. For now, please enjoy the overall program overview. And if you have yet to try P90X, it’s a life changing experience!

P90X Reviews: The basic P90X program comes included with the following:

“How to Bring It” DVD. This DVD is a short instructional/introduction to the P90X workout. Explaining briefly the program, what is needed, and what to expect.

Chest & Back. This DVD, depending on which rotation you follow, will depend on when you perform. In the most popular rotation the “Classic”. You workout with this DVD in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd week, and then again in the 9th and 11th week. The program also has a “Lean” and a “Doubles” rotation. All of the rotations are explained in the fitness guide. This review is based on the “Classic” (the most popular) rotation.

Plyometrics. An extreme cardio routine, “jump training”. This workout is done every week, except on “recovery weeks”. Make no mistake, the recovery week, is not a time where you sit on the couch and eat potato chips. it’s a tough week in it’s own right, Just different than the typical weeks where you lift weights.

Shoulders & Arms. This DVD goes right along with the Chest & Back, and used during the same weeks.

Yoga X. This is a Yoga/Stretch DVD. This workout is done every week, and on the recovery weeks, it’s often done twice per week.

Legs & Back. This DVD is used in every week of P90X, with the exception of the recovery weeks.

Kenpo X. Kenpo X is a cardio kickboxing type routine. This cardio routine is used in every week of P90X.

X-Stretch. A stretch routine which is performed every week in P90X. It’s not a requirement, and is done on your 7th day, if you choose to use it.

Core Synergistics. A total body workout. Used with lighter weights, and is mixed with cardio moves as well.

Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps. This workout is used in the Classic rotation on the 5th, 6th, and 7th week, and then again in the 10th and 12th week.

Back & Biceps. This workout program is used in the same weeks as Chest, Shoulders, Triceps.

Ab Ripper X. This ab routine is brutal, and is used in every week of P90X, with the exception of the recovery weeks. It is usually performed on the same days as the resistance/weight workouts, or 3 times per week.

Cardio X. This DVD is not used in the Classic rotation, however, it does have its place in the other rotations. It can also be a substitute for Plyometrics if you are not “ready” for Plyo yet.

Also included with P90X is a Fitness and Nutritional guidebook.

P90X Reviews: Equipment needed for P90X:

Resistance bands or dumbbells. The program demonstrates the use of both, and you can get a great workout using either. It’s personal preference which you decide on. I personally enjoy both, and use the bands when traveling, and weights while at home. If you are looking for a alternative to dumbbells, and want an “all in one” dumbbell setup, you might consider PowerBlocks as an option. A chin up bar, or a place to do pull ups. As an alternative, you can use the resistance bands to simulate pull ups. You only need a door attachment for this option.

P90X Reviews: Program Highlights:

  • Led by one of the best fitness trainers at Beachbody, Tony Horton.  Tony both motivates and inspires you throughout the program.
  • Program utilizes Muscle Failure and Muscle Confusion. I have linked both of these terms to articles I have written, explaining what this is.
  • Program offers variety in the program, by changing the workouts to prevent boredom, and again, to promote Muscle Confusion.
  • Program has a detailed fitness guidebook. An invaluable tool throughout the program.
  • Program utilizes weights/resistance bands and cardio has the basis of the program.
  • Program provides a Nutritional guidebook, which includes recipes and nutritional information to assist you in your nutrition throughout the program. The guidebook provides details on what to eat and when. Your diet, will change along with the program, for the best results. Let’s face it, your success in either program is going to be a direct result in both the exercise AND diet. Having a detailed guide, like the one included this program is a definite benefit!

P90X Reviews: Additional Information:

P90X workouts last about 60 minutes on average, with the longest workout lasting 92 minutes (Yoga X). The ab workout is about 16 minutes.

P90X is best suited for advanced fitness levels, however, I have seen beginners start with P90X and achieve excellent results! As a beginner, you can optionally modify the P90X program and start with it. Complete as much as you can on each workout, or alternatively, you can do half of the weight routines, and take breaks on cardio and abs.  As a beginner, don’t necessarily try to keep up with the DVD.  If weight loss is your first fitness goal, you may want to start with something like Power 90 first, then P90X after.  i did this, and not only did I lose 30+ lbs in 90 days with Power 90, but it gave me a head start with P90X!  I can also personally recommend Chalean Extreme as a pre-P90X program.  You have options, no matter what you decide.

P90X focuses on one muscle group at a time. With the exception of Core Synergistics, P90X focuses on working one muscle group at a time. For example, while using the Chest & Back DVD, you will perform a chest exercise, followed by a back exercise.

P90X emphasizes controlled exercises. Each rep and exercise is done with an emphasis on control. Perfect form and when the form starts to diminish, you should stop the exercise. The movement itself is a normal average speed.

P90X Reviews: Summary

Some of the statements I made in my above review are my personal opinion. I have completed P90X (several times) and believe that P90X is a solid program. I would without a doubt say that you will be happy with P90X!  Both are complete in every way from nutrition to exercise, to providing the exercise rotation etc.  P90X is full of intensity,  it’s not an easy program by a long shot, but if it was, you wouldn’t get the results people all over the world are getting with P90X!  If you have seen the infomercial on television, or seen before and after photos of P90X graduates on the internet, you will see that the program works.  These are real people, just like you and me!  You can have the same results with time, dedication, and discipline!  Results that will transform your life!  P90X is a program you can use over and over again.  As of this writing, I am on my 9th round of P90X!  You can easily modify and make a hybrid routine, after you complete a P90X round, email me and I will be happy to send you a modified version that I have done.  I recommend doing the first round of P90X “as written”.
In my final words , I strongly encourage you to pick one of these programs, P90X, Power 90, Chalean Extreme, etc. you can’t go wrong in getting started in a fitness program, and either one of these can take you to your fitness goals. Even Tony Horton (fitness instructor in P90X) will tell you, that variety is the spice of life.  So try them all!  Build a fitness library, change it up, spice it up, keep your fitness moving forwards and break through the plateaus of doing the same old cardio and weight routines. I sincerely hope that you have found this review beneficial.  Please feel free to send me an email. Good luck on your journey, and I’m here if you need some help along the way!  I’m a Team Beachbody Coach and more than happy to assist you with questions, robert@extremely-fit.com. Don’t for get to take a look at my ChaLEAN Extreme Reviews. And stay tuned here for more P90X Reviews as well.

P90X Chin Up Bar Review

posted by Robert Harden

P90X Chin Up Bar One of our most popular products is the P90X Chin Up Bar. Since this is such a popular product (with good reason), I thought I would write up a review regarding this chin up bar. I’m going to try my best to remain objective. I see this product from two different view points. The seller and the buyer. Some of you may read the review, and say, “Well sure he’s giving it a good review because he wants us to buy it.” Well, of course I want you to buy it. It’s a great chin up bar! But I also own this chin up bar, and it has served me well for 3 years!

The P90X Chin Up Bar requires assembly. It comes in eight different pieces, and requires you to bolt the chin up bar together in about ten different locations. Inside the box, you should also receive a hardware box (that contains your two wall brackets and the bolts and nuts). You should receive installation instructions inside the box. But if not, don’t worry! If by a slim chance you don’t get the instructions, you can view them from our product page. Or, alternatively, you can visit the following link for the P90X Chin Up Bar Instructions and P90X Downloads page. On this Download page, you may find some other P90X goodies you may want to download as well. :)

So you take the P90X Chin Up Bar out of the box, assemble the eight pieces with the included ten bolts/nuts. Now you should have the bar assembled and ready to use! Now all you need is a door frame.

Important Requirements for the P90X Chin Up Bar:

Fits doorways up to 32″ wide (sturdy doorframe with trim required—minimum 5″ width, maximum 6.5″).

So if your door frame is in the “standard” or “average” category, you’re more than likely in good shape. But please make sure. I don’t want you to get stuck with a chin up bar that doesn’t work for you. We’ll help you return it for a full refund, but since return shipping is not included by Beachbody (the manufacturer), please double check!

Now you have the required door frame and the assembled chin up bar. Inside your hardware package, you should find two wall brackets. These brackets will go on the inside of your door frame at the top. The brackets come in an “L” shape, so the bottom of the “L” will rest on the door frame trim. With your chin up bar, you should have eight screws and eight wall anchors. You’ll drill into the sheet rock, and tap in the wall anchors. Then place the bracket over the holes and the anchors and screw both brackets into place. Simple. Easy. I’d say “easy as 1,2,3″, but it’s actually 1 through 8. :)

So now the assembled chin up bar will slip right into the brackets and use the door frame to secure it into place. On my P90X Chin Up Bar product page I have two videos. One shows the bracket installation, and one shows the actual use of the chin up bar. Be sure to take a moment and check those out as well.

The chin up bar is rated to hold up to 300 lbs. I have personally used this bar at 205 with no problems at my home. I’m no longer 205 (P90X tends to cause weight loss). :) But even still, I have been known to use a weight belt and add 35 lbs back onto my chin ups. Which makes up for the 30+ lbs I lost using P90 and P90X

This chin up bar has multiple hand positions, which makes it more convenient than a straight chin up bar. The multiple positions are important, because the P90X program has you performing multiple exercises, suing all of the positions. After all, it’s call the P90X Chin Up Bar for a very good reason.

Each hand position has a nice foam grip. Not all chin up bars come with the softened grips. Which is nice, when you are doing numerous pull ups.

You can easily remove the chin up bar when you’re done. It slides into place in SECONDS. So the only thing remaining is the brackets. Since mine is mounted on the inside of a bedroom, these brackets go unnoticed by everyone that visits. So don’t think you have to look at a chin up bar every day. :) Although I have tried to leave mine up, so I could knock out a pull up or two while walking down the hall. But my wife put her foot down! So mine is only mounted on the days it’s needed.

Now, being objective, there are a couple of things I don’t like about the P90X Chin Up Bar. One, the black handles that rest on the door trim, can leave some slight (non damaging) black marks. I’m a VERY observant person. So this may not be enough to matter to anyone. It may also depend on the color of your trim. This is an easy fix, just take some old wash rags, and when you mount the bar, slide them between the trim and your chin up bar.

Two, I like the old feeling of jumping up and grabbing a chin up bar, and allowing my legs to remain straight. Since I’m tall, 6′3, I have to bend my legs a little to keep my feet from touching. My legs never touch while doing the chin ups. Again, this is a personal preference and may not matter at all to you. I think most people bend their legs anyway.

Overall, the chin up bar is great, I’ve used mine for 3 years , and have had no problems. Not to mention it’s convenient. I work out in my home, like most of us will/do, and this allows me to workout and go to the “pull up station” within ear shot of my television where the P90X DVD is playing.

Chin ups are a part of P90X, so you need a chin up bar or a place to do chin ups. This is an excellent option, and when you look around, it’s rather affordable. Not to mention the shipping price for a longer, heavier box (as this comes in) is amazingly low, which starts at $5.95 for standard UPS here in the store. It comes with a 30 day money back guarantee, and I am readily available if should have any problems. We are happy to help you with your products, whether you have questions, problems, or just need some fitness advice.

On a closing note, if you are using a chin up bar, whether it be a P90X Chin Up Bar or other bar, you might be interested in an article I wrote entitled, How Chin Up Exercises Can Be a Complete Upper Body Workout. Thanks for reading my P90X Chin Up Bar Review! Good luck with your training and nutrition. Talk to you soon!

P90X Reviews: My Results are Miracalous

posted by Robert Harden

One of the benefits of being a fitness coach, is hearing from a customer that has had great results using programs we sell here at Extremely-Fit. This particular customer, Mari, has had some results that she has termed “nothing short of a miracle”. Read her P90X Review below. It just goes to show, that with the right mind set and positive attitude, there are no age barriers with P90X! Great job Mari!

My results have been nothing short of a miracle. I am a 57 year old woman. My son encouraged me to do the program. I have run seven 26 mile marathons since turning 50 years old so he knew I could do the program (I know how to push through pain.) However, on Dec. 30th, 2007, I tore a ligament in my right ankle and went from running 19 miles one day and unable to walk the next.

I gained weight and turned into jelly. My son said to start it out easy and to do the best you can, well Robert, I am on week 11 and I am stronger than I was when I was In my 20’s 30’s or even my 40’s!!!

I can already do 15 push ups and all together in the chest tricep workout a total of 40 – 60!!! Wow, and I am 57 years old!!! I have lost 4 inches in my hips and 3 inches in my waist! And all this in 10 weeks. I have been doing the lean version and can’t wait to do each version of P90X. I plan on doing the doubles next. Fantastic!

Best regards,
Mari

If you have a P90X Review, please email me. If you would like to have them considered for the website, please let me know that too. Even if you don’t want them posted, I would enjoy hearing about your results!

My Personal P90X Review

posted by Robert Harden

My P90X ResultsI want to thank you for reading my P90X Review. I’m posting my review for two reasons. Most importantly, I want to be able to encourage people to lose weight, get in great shape, and live a happier, healthier life. I’m a normal person just like you. I have a family, a job, responsibilities. All of us have little time, and every minute of the day is generally spoken for. But being a normal person, like you, I still found the time, and made a promise to myself, to get in shape and lose weight. You just have to get started! Take it one day at a time. The second reason, is a selfish one. After several years of hard work and dedication, it’s always nice to get some recognition for your hard work.

And for those two reasons, I would like to extend an invitation to you. If you are ready to get in shape, and lose weight, I’m here to help you. Just let me know. As a Team Beachbody coach, I can answer questions, support you, motivate you. Then once you get in great shape, or if you have already gotten in great shape, I would like to personally invite you to send me your P90X Reviews. I will gladly post those reviews for the same two reasons I posted mine. To motivate and support others, and to give you the recognition for your hard work. Please do not hesitate to contact me for help, or with a P90X Review! Email me HERE. I will email you back as quickly as possible.

My personal P90X Review:

August of 2005 was a life changing moment. I was watching an infomercial from Beachbody on Power 90. I was tipping the scale at 205 lbs, the heaviest I have ever been. I was eating anything and everything, and was not doing any exercise. And I came upon the realization that I was just not losing weight as I had when I was younger. So the infomercial really interested me. Here were all these people that had lost weight in 90 days. The infomercial stated a guarantee, and I was sold. I told myself that I would work hard for 90 days and see what happened. Worse case scenario, I’ll send it back for a refund. Little did I know that over the course of the next 90 days, I would lose 30+ lbs! That was all it took, I was hooked! So naturally, finding that fitness was starting to be fun, and habit forming, I decided to take it to the next level. I ordered P90X!

During this time, my friends told me that I didn’t have the “genetics” for six pack abs. So I decided to prove some people wrong and give 110% to P90X. When the program came in, I was surprised at how thorough the program was. I had 12 DVD’s, a fitness guide and a nutritional guide. Everything was laid out for me in three phases. Each day, I simply followed the guides. Everything was detailed for me. I knew how many calories I was supposed to eat, I knew what foods I was supposed to eat, and I knew what exercise DVD to do each day. It made the entire program SIMPLE. But what wasn’t SIMPLE was the workouts! Tony Horton, the trainer, will say in one of his workout programs, “Get your mind right!”. And that’s exactly what you have to do. You work your mind as much as you work your body. You have to work hard, you have to dig down deep, and get determined. It’s not an easy program. Being overweight, tired all the time, out of shape, and unhealthy is EASY, anyone can do that. But to get in great shape, the best shape of your life, the kind of shape I am in right now, you have to get your mind right. But it’s without a doubt one of the most rewarding things you will ever do in your life! For 90 days, I worked hard, I ate right, I watched and learned from others, and when it was over, I felt great. I enjoy being able to do things, I couldn’t do when I was younger! When I started this program, I was able to do 3 (yes only 3) chin ups. Today, I can do 21 chin ups! There are no limitations, you can do whatever you want to do! Age doesn’t matter, you can break through all the barriers and achieve greatness.

You may think the cost is a factor. It’s not! I’ve completed 8 rounds. I’m getting my money’s worth! One round of P90X is 90 days. The workouts will be challenging, they keep changing, it stays exciting, and you don’t get that same old routine feeling. This is a COMPLETE program. The absolute best part, is that you earn back every bit of your money spent. No more gym memberships, you work out at home. The program comes with three routines, so you can change it up, and keep going for a 2nd and 3rd round. I’m on round 8, and I’m not slowing down yet!

You may think time is a factor. It’s not! Everyone has just one hour a day to devote to their health and happiness.

I absolutely love this program, being in my mid 30’s, and being in better shape now than when I was 18 and in the Army is just incredible! I have included my progress picture top left. This program works! And I have the six pack abs my friends told I could never have.

You work cardio, you lift weights or bands, and you will want a place to do pull-ups. You can use something homemade or use the P90X Chin Up Bar.

Buy P90X, you won’t regret it. I tell everyone, make sure you take day 1 pictures. And take pictures again every 30 days. You will compare these pictures and be so surprised at your results. I can not encourage you enough, make an investment in your health and your life.

Trust me, after 8 rounds, I still love this program. I’m married, have two young children, a busy lifestyle. But through this, I have P90X. One hour or so a day. Make time for one hour, be selfish with your fitness, live a longer, happier life. Do things you did when you were younger! I know weigh 165 lbs, and have 8% bodyfat, and I’m a normal person like anyone else. Anyone can do it! Determination, clean diet, one day at a time. I started out just like you, I wanted to get in shape. Just a few pounds at a time, one day at a time.

Feel free to contact me. I will help you, I will coach you, together we can get in shape, stay in shape. We can be Extremely-Fit! Thank you again for reading my P90X Review.
