I’d like to start off this Turbo Fire Review by saying this: Everyone can benefit from this DVD. This will likely be the easiest DVD of the entire workout program. There’s no work involved, just place it in the DVD player, and hit PLAY. Chalene Johnson is a master motivator, and her advice and knowledge will get you “Fired Up” for Turbo Fire. Now I’m the world’s worst at jumping ahead. I’m too impatient, I just have to jump right in. I’m glad I took a moment to watch this DVD. I’m going to give you a detailed summary of this Turbo Fire DVD, but I encourage you to watch it it as well. But if you are happy with my review, that’s okay too. 🙂

Chalene Johnson gives you a warm welcome, and she is speaking in front of the stage in which you will soon see A LOT of. Her class is gathered around, and she answers some frequently asked questions.

Are the Turbo Fire moves difficult to learn?

Each DVD has an option called New to Class. This is a personalized, one on one type environment, where Chalene Johnson breaks down the moves. She shows you exactly what to do, slowly. She also tells you how she “cues” the routines. This way you will know what’s coming and when. This way, you will know how to do the moves correctly, and can get the most out of the actual workout. You may only need to watch this New to Class option once, or several times. Regardless of how long it takes, knowing what to do and how will maximize the actual workout!

What makes the Turbo Fire Workout different?

Turbo Fire is the evolution of all cardio workout programs. Typically, people tend to do cardio exercises in the same fashion, where their heart rate stays at a steady pace for a specific amount of time. This type of cardio exercise may bring results, but only for a short time. The results and weight loss will begin to slow down, and then stop, as your body adapts. Turbo Fire reinvents cardio training, by adding high intensity interval training or HIIT for short. HIIT makes your cardio training more effective. In short, Chalene Johnson considers the Turbo Fire Workout to be the evolution of everything she has been doing over her lifetime. All of her workout programs has led to Turbo Fire. Turbo Fire will help you lose weight, break weight loss plateaus, and quickly help you lose that last 5, 10, or 15 lbs.

How does Turbo Fire burn fat faster?

Chalene Johnson took a look at all the various programs that helped people accelerate their results. As a result of her research, she discovered that HIIT was producing astonishing results. Turbo Fire adds her style, her unique way of motivating her audience, and of course the MUSIC. Don’t be afraid of the words high intensity. No matter how fit or unfit you are, you workout at your “own” high intensity. By working out at your high intensity level, your metabolism goes into overdrive. Not only do you burn more calories during the Turbo Fire Workouts, but you also burn more calories after your workout.

What are Fire Drills?

In short, Fire Drills are the same as the HIIT drills. But Chalene wants to get your attention. You hear the siren on the video, and you know its time to give it all you got. A burst of adrenaline, a surge of energy, and then the HIIT. Fire Drills or HIIT drills last between 30 seconds and a maximum of 1 minute. During a Fire Drill, you go all out! On a scale of 1 – 10, you should be aiming for a 9 or 10. After the drill, you get the same amount of recovery time. The best thing about the HIIT is that you burn the same amount of calories after the workout is over, which Chalene calls the After Burn Effect. This After Burn Effect will help you burn up to 9x the fat than regular cardio.

How hard should I push myself during a Fire Drill?

Chalene will consistently talk about a scale of 1 -10. Level 1 is sitting on a couch watching TV. A Level 10 is sprinting up a hill at your fastest speed possible. During a Fire Drill, Chalene wants you to hit a Level 10. When should you back off? It’s time to slow down and back off if you experience aches and pains. It’s when you experience physical discomfort, you should start being cautious. But if you hear a little voice in the back of your mind saying, “I’m tired”, that’s when you got to push forwards and go for that Level 10. If you want results, if you want to see weight loss, and you start asking yourself and others why you aren’t losing weight faster, first look at your Level of Intensity. Are your pushing yourself?

If the HIIT workouts in Turbo Fire are so effective, why wouldn’t we do them everyday?

If you are doing your HIIT drills or Fire Drills correctly, and pushing yourself to the best of your ability, then your body needs time to recover and repair itself when that workout is over. In order to get results, see results, and maximize results, then you have to allow your body to recover. That’s why you won’t see HIIT back to back.

Why add core, stretch and sculpting classes to the Turbo Fire Workout?

Any effective workout program has to be balanced in all areas of fitness. Which means, not just cardio, but nutrition, core, strength, and flexibility. Your body burns calories daily, muscles require more calories to maintain, than fat. So by developing your muscle, by adding muscle, your body will require more calories to maintain. This means your body starts burning more calories. A good thing! Additionally, every Turbo Fire Workout uses your core muscle group (everything between your shoulders and your knees), the core workouts will keep your core muscles strong, and make your Turbo Fire workouts more effective. Which brings us to the Stretch workouts. To get the most from your program, you need to be flexible. Your body has to be loose, flexible, and limber to help you through and maximize your performance. Whether it be daily life, your workouts, or recovery days, flexibility is very important in any program.

Will I be able to keep up if I am out of shape?

Don’t be intimidated by the people in Chalene’s class. Her class on the DVD is not just starting out. But that same class has likely been where you are. Your level of fitness is not a new thing for any us, we’ve all been where you are. All of us had a “day 1” a day where we were just starting. We have all been in a position where we have struggled with weight loss. But every single one of them in class, and here at Extremely-Fit, started out by doing their best. Give it your best, work out to the best of your ability TODAY. It may not be the same level of intensity as the others in class, but that intensity level will improve, before long, you are fit enough to be in the class with the others. It’s a mind set. If you feed yourself with negative thoughts and behaviors, such as: “This is too hard”, “I can’t”, “I’m not strong enough”, then guess what? You are going to keep the body you have, and it will never change. But wait…. if you have a positive mind set, and believe you can do anything, refuse to give up, and stay determined, and you modify the workouts and do your best at “your” maximum level of intensity, then your fitness goals will be within your grasp!

How can I get the best results with Turbo Fire?

No matter how much you workout, if you are eating too many calories, you wont get the results you want. It’s a simple concept, burn more calories than the amount of calories you consume, and you will lose weight. So should you go about this? Determine your level of calories, the nutrition guide with Turbo Fire will help you do this. Then, you have to stick with it. You have to stay at your appropriate level of calories, or you won’t lose weight. Even if you are only a 100 calories over. Now the best way to do this, is to write it down. If you purchased the package of Turbo Fire that includes the journal, then make sure you use it! So a lot of recipes and Beachbody supplements are already in there. Another fantastic resource is the Beachbody Meal Planner. I can not stress how this has helped me (Robert) personally. I managed to lose 30 lbs in 90 days using the Meal Planner. i wrote a review thoroughly discussing the meal planner and how it can help you. Studies show that those that track their calories are more likely to lose weight, and lose more weight, than those that don’t. We can’t possibly remember every calorie we consume, and when calories are so important in weight loss, you have to keep track.

Another thing about getting the best results. You absolutely, positively need to be taking a quality multivitamin. I (Robert) personally take Activit, Core Omega 3, Cal Mag, and Shakeology. You can’t expect your body to perform at its best, if you don’t fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to perform, recover and repair. I’m also a big fan of the P90X Recovery Drink, P90X Bars, and the Joint Formula. Chalene Johnson also believes highly in Shakeology and the Recovery Formula as well.
