As waistlines continue to increase, and bellies gradually get bigger and bigger…. so does the demand for ab exercises that actually help to flatten your tummy…. to get lean, toned abs.
Many of you search online for free exercises or even exercise programs that will slim your midsections and flatten your tummy. Maybe you want more than to just flatten your tummy… maybe you want those lean, toned abs… maybe you even want that six pack.
So the quest begins. Google is your friend as you search for ab exercises, that perfect ab gadget or machine that will target your abs and make the belly fat disappear. But even when you know all the right moves, you often lack motivation – or lose motivation quickly – and that’s not surprising. Not to mention, the abs are a tough area to train! Often, they are the LAST area to show results. Even fit people who work out regularly often have difficulty making their tummies as trim as they’d like.
When you’re searching the internet for free exercises to flatten your tummy, you’ll probably find directions for doing most of the ab exercises that are the newest, latest and greatest exercises being used today. Sadly, regardless of the “guarantees” the “warranties”, and the “claims to fame”…. those exercises alone won’t really flatten your tummy and make your stomach flat, not if you carry extra weight around your midsection. They will help you develop ab muscles, but your six-pack will be hidden by belly fat.
So what must you do to flatten your tummy? Lose the fat!
Don’t just look online and google free exercises that flatten your tummy. Don’t download an ab routine… do a bunch of crunches and hope your tummy will slowly disappear, while your abs slowly begin to show. It just doesn’t work like that. I don’t care what the “claim to fame” is on the late night TV ab machine.
If you really want to flatten your tummy, and get some abs, search for a workout program that burns calories, too. Try some cardio! Through cardio exercises, your body will become faster and more efficient in burning fat. Then while you’re at it, throw in some strength training. Strength training is a great way to trim your waistline, too. Muscle requires more calories to maintain than fat. So the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Muscle burns fat. The more muscle your add, the faster your metabolism becomes, which means you burn more fat faster as you add more muscle.
So you see, it takes more than just sit-ups and crunches to shed belly fat and flatten your tummy. It takes a fitness program that covers it all. Strength training, cardio training, AND ab exercises. Now if you really want to get serious, flatten your tummy and get results…the final piece to the puzzle is a good diet.
