Getting yourself into shape is not something that should be taken lightly. If you are going to follow the Insanity 60 day workout you need to be well prepared in advance. You might be trying out the Insanity Workout or maybe you have another workout in mind.  Either way, prior planning is essential. You need to have in your mind that you will not fail and that you will see the entire Insanity 60 day workout from beginning to end.  You need to set your mind right, and know from the very beginning that you are refusing give in! Even when it gets tough, even when you’re body is tired and sore. No matter what, you will never give up.  You are not alone in this battle, many have gone before you and SURVIVED.  You can too!  But getting you mind right is only one thing you need to do!

If you plan to successfully complete the Insanity 60 Day Workout, you must also do 1, 2, 3.

First, before you start your workout….you need to think about your GOALS. And you need to think about WHY you are doing this.  This is IMPORTANT.  That’s why its the first step after getting your mind right.  Write down your goals and your why.  You might just be thinking “SURVIVE the Insanity 60 Day Workout!” and that’s fine, but you should also note down any actual changes or goals that you want to achieve over this period of time. For instance, you might want to lose xx number of pounds or inches.  It might be to tone up all over, and get LEAN & MEAN. Maybe you need discipline, maybe you want to put yourself to the TEST, can you do it?  Can you complete the hardest workout ever put on DVD? Your goal might be to not only exercise, but cut down on sweets, or alcohol. Maybe you want that 6 pack more than ever!  Sit down and think about this for a while and I’m sure that you will get some good, solid goals written down. Then when times get tough, you can reflect back on your goals and your why, and get back on track!

Second, you need to look at your schedule and plan your workouts. Too many people quit these workout programs because there are not enough hours in the day to fit them in. So get out your calendar and make a plan.  This is for YOU.  Be selfish, plan your workouts, this will help you become healthier, more fit, and at the end, you will be glad you did!  Do this and you won’t have the excuse that you didn’t have time.  I workout at 5am. Do I like getting up at 5 am, absolutely not.  But I get my workout in FIRST, nothing can come between me and my workout, because I get it out of the way before the day even starts!

Third, do you have all of the equipment needed to complete the Insanity 60 Day Workout? As far as necessary equipment, you don’t need much.  A good pair of shoes, a jump mat if you have concrete floors, and at least an 8×8 sq ft area.  Larger is better, but you can modify and get by with that.  You also want to make sure  that you have the supplements you need.  I recommend a good multivitamin, Shakeology, and the Recovery Formula.  Those are my favorite for the Insanity 60 Day Workout.  I would say that you can get by without the Recovery Formula for many other workouts, but for Insanity… I felt like it was a huge benefit.
